Start off your activity with a short walk around the neighbourhood of Woodstock. During this immersive interaction you will discover the history of Salt River, Cape Town's local street art and why street art is used to express the freedom of an individual. Additionally, Woodstock boasts some iconic street art from 20 years ago. Most painted walls stem from past international art festivals held in and around Cape Town. Artists from South Africa and worldwide have adorned the facades of over 125 buildings in an extraordinary display of artistic self-expression and empowering messaging. 

Discover how Woodstock’s rich history from its early days as a seaside village to its growth alongside Cape Town’s thriving textile industry helped shape the creative energy that fuels its street art scene today. One of the largest mural portraits in the city can be found in Salt River, created in memory of Imam Haron, an Islamic religious leader and anti-apartheid activist who died while in police custody.

Your experience wraps up with a short stop at a local home to enjoy the distinctive flavours of Cape Malay cuisine before returning to your hotel.
