Tour Details:

Huguenot Tunnel

‌Traveling from Cape Town towards the interior of South Africa, the Huguenot Tunnel provides a faster and safer route by avoiding the steep and winding mountainous pass. Stretching 4 km, this tunnel is a vital connection on the N1 highway, though vehicles carrying hazardous materials are not permitted to use it.

‌‌‌‌Worcester

‌Continuing along the journey, travelers pass through Worcester, the largest city in the Breede River Valley, located 120 km from Cape Town. This historic town is well known for its wine production, contributing to the rich viticultural heritage of the Western Cape.

‌Hex River Valley

Beyond the tunnel, the road leads into the stunning Hex River Valley, a region renowned for its breathtaking mountain views. The route winds through vineyards and one of the country’s most famous wine-producing areas. Each season paints the valley with a different charm—autumn transforms the landscape into a masterpiece of red, orange, and yellow hues, while in winter, the mountains are blanketed in snow, creating a spectacular sight.

‌This route is not just a passage but an experience, showcasing the natural beauty and agricultural richness of the region.

‌Aquila Game Reserve

Enjoy a 2 hour open game drive at Aquila. Aquila is home to an enormous variety of game, including the Big 5 -- elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalos and leopards, but also, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, many different antelopes (gemsboks, springboks, elands), baboons, jackals, bat-eared foxes, ostriches, hippos and crocodiles.‌ Also many migratory birds stop en route at Aquila's own wetland.

Located just 170 km from Cape Town, Aquila Private Game Reserve offers an unforgettable 4-star safari experience in a family-friendly setting. Covering 10,000 hectares of stunning natural landscapes, the reserve provides a unique opportunity to observe wildlife while enjoying world-class comfort.

Guests can indulge in a buffet-style lunch, savoring a variety of fresh and delicious dishes. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the lodge, ensuring you stay connected even in the heart of the wild.

For ultimate relaxation, the Tranquila Spa features a heated pool, sauna, and steam room, offering a serene retreat after a day of adventure. The lodge also boasts an infinity pool with a wet bar, perfect for cooling off while enjoying breathtaking views.

‌ Guests can also unwind at the interior bar with a panoramic views of the landscapes where the animals roam freely, making every moment of their stay an unforgettable experience.

‌After your ride, take time for a welcome drink, then  enjoy the peacefulness of the South Africa's nature by having a two- to three-hour game drives on a 4x4 to see those majestic animals interact in their natural environment.

It was our first safari and we really enjoyed it. We got to see all the animals - even from quite close - and a park ranger explained us many interesting things about the animals and how they live. We would definitely recommend it!
