Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Oudtshoorn
Depart from your hotel in Cape Town and travel through the Robertson winelands. Along the way, experience a "race against extinction" at the oldest ostrich farm open to the public. This unique experience allows you to learn more about the fascinating world of ostriches. On the way to Oudtshoorn, enjoy a wine tasting in the Robertson area, famous for its fine wines. Afterward, visit the ostrich farm, where you’ll have the chance to get close to these remarkable birds. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner and overnight stay in Oudtshoorn.
Day 2: Oudtshoorn / Knysna
Start your day with breakfast before visiting the charming town of Oudtshoorn, home to South Africa’s ostrich farming industry and the world-famous Cango Caves. After exploring the caves, travel to Knysna, a picturesque town situated between lush forests and the shores of a peaceful lagoon, offering a wide variety of activities and attractions. Stop for lunch at the renowned "Kobus se Gat," a local favorite. If you wish, you can also visit the Elephant Park to get up close with these majestic creatures. Spend the night in Knysna.
Day 3: Tsitsikamma / Plettenberg Bay
After breakfast, head to Tsitsikamma, an area known for its vast indigenous forests, deep river gorges, and stunning coastlines. Visit Nature's Valley, a serene destination surrounded by nature. If you wish, visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, where you can see a wide range of animals. Continue your exploration in the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve, then head to Plettenberg Bay for more scenic beauty. End your day by visiting Knysna Heads and the vibrant Waterfront. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Knysna.
Day 4: Mossel Bay
After breakfast, head to Mossel Bay, a historic town discovered by Bartholomew Dias. Mossel Bay is one of the major attractions along the Garden Route, offering a rich history and beautiful landscapes. Explore the town and enjoy a thrilling safari tour at a nearby game reserve.
